As you may already know, it’s important to frequently expose your teeth to fluoride so they can fight the threats of tooth decay and enamel erosion. However, that’s a tough task to accomplish if you’re not sure how to access fluoride. So, to help you, Dr. Charles Anderson and our dental team will be happy to list the best ways to access fluoride.
First, ask for a fluoride treatment at Anderson Dentistry. When you come into our office for your six-month checkup, your treatment will generally come in the form of a foam, gel or varnish and it will strengthen and nourish your teeth. To make the treatment more enjoyable, it will likely be flavored.
Second, use fluoride oral hygiene products. It’s best to brush your teeth twice a day—every morning and every night—with fluoride toothpaste that has earned the American Dental Association’s Seal of Acceptance. This will help you nourish and care for your smile regularly. Also, if you rinse your mouth once a day with fluoride mouthwash, your teeth will be thoroughly cleaned and strengthened.
Third, use natural fluoride sources. Fortunately, each city provides fluoridated water in their water system, so if you drink enough tap water, you can strengthen and nourish your smile. Lastly, there are some foods that you can consume to help boost your fluoride exposure, like spinach, beets, asparagus, carrots and tomatoes.
